Paint Brushes

Paint brushes are used in a variety of different art processes. They may be used in traditional painting methods, such as with oils or watercolors. They may also be used with various inks.

It is most common for paint brushes to apply different pigments to a surface. However, they may also be used to subtract color. For instance, they may be soaked with water to lighten layers of acrylic or watercolor. They also may use oil-based mediums or turpentine to pick up oil paints. Of course, when paint is still wet, a dry paint brush is also an excellent option for picking up color.

Other uses of paint brushes include the application of glazes or other such mediums with three dimensional art projects. They may also be used for glues and other adhesives. Finally, some people utilize these art utensils as miniature brooms for cleaning up dusty or powdery projects.
