Art Supplies

Art supplies are the various materials used in the interest of creative expression. Of course, some are also used more for decorative purposes rather than expressive ones. In addition to this, many people who consider themselves artists enjoy working with items that had a different intended use entirely.

When a person utilizes materials created for different purposes as art supplies, they may be known as "found objects." Generally, when that term is used, it means that the item can still be recognized within its original form. These are most commonly seen in three-dimensional works.

When found art supplies are more integrated within a work, it is more common to refer to them as just another material. Of course, the line between being a found object and being another material is a very blurry one. This is very common in all areas of art.
